A unique program offering opportunities for South Dakotans to earn certificates from the state's technical colleges at little or no cost
There's never been a better time to earn a certificate, especially for workers impacted by the current pandemic.
A new credential opens the door to a new career path, advancement in your current field, or continued education—and you may be able to get it for little or no cost. The South Dakota Board of Technical Education and Department of Labor and Regulation have developed South Dakota UpSkill in response to the workforce challenges caused by COVID-19.
All UpSkill certificates relate to high-demand fields in South Dakota—marketing, health care, information technology, and more.
Credits from these programs can even integrate with Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or bachelor's degree programs at public institutions throughout the state.
There are UpSkill certificates available online, in-person, and in hybrid formats. The certificates are designed to be completed by Spring 2022.
